AUGUST 2020 ISSUE
Do you have any questions?
Ticket sales for PyData Global 2020 are now live! For everyone attending without the sponsorship of an employer, tickets are sold under a pay-what-you-can pricing model with a minimum ticket price of $10.00 USD for all regions. There are also suggested ticket prices per region.
Ticket sales from PyData conferences account for a significant portion of NumFOCUS' operating budget, helping fund its 74 sponsored and affiliated open source projects.
Earlier this month, we closed our CFP with almost 400 amazing proposals! With so many fantastic options, selecting our program involved many tough choices! Fortunately, we had the help of over 60 volunteer reviewers from PyData chapters all throughout the world to help!
By now, all decisions have been communicated to proposal authors and our program is now available on our website.
More than just talks (67 of them!), we have built an exception program also composed of 23 short talks, 12 tutorials, 12 sprints and 5 posters. In the coming weeks we will be publishing the conference schedule, so stay tuned!
NumFOCUS provides a stable, independent, and professional home for the open source projects powering contemporary scientific inquiry and business processes. We aim to ensure that funding and resources are available to sustain projects in the scientific data stack over the long haul.
PyData Global 2020, a NumFOCUS educational program, helps accomplish this goal by driving funding for other NumFOCUS initiatives. As part of this goal, we are actively looking for sponsors! If you or your company are interested in sponsoring us and helping fund our projects, please write us at [email protected]
We thank sponsors who have decided to support the very first online, global PyData!
At PyData Global, we believe that part of delivering the best possible program to our audience involves growing our community of speakers. As part of this effort we are running live webinars, especially tailored for first-time speakers, on how to prepare and and deliver successful presentations. We are also matching new speakers with experienced mentors who can offer personalized advice and feedback. Shout out to our volunteer mentors throughout the world who make this possible!
PyData Global is committed to providing exciting opportunities for underrepresented groups in software engineering and data analytics.
Welcoming attendees from diverse backgrounds enables us to build community awareness and craft a rich and inclusive conference experience for everyone.
